Patrick Mahomes Wiki, Biography, Net Worth, Personal Life

Since joining the NFL in 2017, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has become the NFL’s poster boy for success. At age 25, the budding star is one of the most highly-esteemed quarterbacks to emerge from a rookie class in the past two decades.

Patrick Mahomes NFL Career

Mahomes has played for the Kansas City Chiefs franchise, located in Kansas City, Missouri, since 2017 as a quarterback. However, much like fellow quarterback Tom Brady, Mahomes spent two years perfecting his game.

In 2019, he led the Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV, where his fourth-quarter comeback helped him earn his team a Super Bowl Championship title, as well as Super Bowl MVP for his leadership. Today, Mahomes’ momentum continues.

As the NFL season gears up for Super Bowl LV, scheduled for February 7, many oddsmakers covering the championship game support the Chiefs to win again. Across the league, NFL betting odds from various sportsbooks are looking at top players like Mahomes to shift their teams’ odds as the big game day approaches.

With one of the most impressive stat sheets in the NFL, the quarterback’s accolades thus far include: Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP in 2020, NFL MVP (2018), NFL Offensive Player of the Year (2018), and First-team All-Pro (2018), NFL passing touchdowns leader (2018), the Bert Bell Award (2018), and appearing three times on the Pro Bowl team (2018-2020).

In 2020, Sports Illustrated named Mahomes their Sportsperson of the Year.

NCAAF Career

Prior to being drafted by the Chiefs in 2017, Mahomes made his name playing for Texas Tech University. Originally, the athlete split his time between the college’s baseball and football teams. Prior to his junior year, Mahomes shifted to focus solely on his role as quarterback with the Red Raiders football program in 2016.

During his junior year, Mahomes broke multiple NCAAF records. These include the single-game record for yards passed (734) and single-game yards (total offense, 819). At the end of the 2016 season, he led the NCAA in yards per game (421), passing yards (+5,000) , and total touchdowns (53).

Because of his quick success with football, Mahomes decided to forego his senior year. He was picked up by the Chiefs as the tenth pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Biography

Patrick Mahomes was born September 17, 1995, in Tyler, Texas. As a young athlete, Mahomes focused on both baseball and football. The time he spent focusing on building his pitching skills helped the player also develop his hand-eye coordination, which is necessary for a successful quarterback.

Before pledging to Texas Tech University, Mahomes became eligible for the 2014 MLB Draft. The Detroit Tigers selected him at a 37th-round pick, but Mahomes instead committed to Texas Tech’s baseball and football programs.\

Net Worth

In mid-2020, Mahomes broke US major league records when he signed a ten-year contract with the Chiefs worth more than a total of $500 million. The Midwestern NFL franchise is eager to keep a hold on the youngest Super Bowl MVP ever named.

Mahomes has other endorsement deals, which include Hy-Vee, DirectTV, Adidas, Head & Shoulders, and Statefarm Insurance. Additionally, the quarterback owns a minority stake in Kansas City’s MLB franchise, the Royals.
